Following the tragedy at Jodhpur's Chamunda Devi temple on Tuesday 30th September 2008, this year Jodhpur RIFF has been cancelled as a sign of respect for the people who lost their lives or were injured, their families and the citizens of Jodhpur city. Jodhpur RIFF 2008 was due to take place at Mehrangarh Fort between Friday 10th and Tuesday 14th October 2008. The decision to cancel was made unanimously by the Festivals management. Members of the public who have purchased tickets for Jodhpur RIFF 2008 will be contacted individually and their money refunded in full by the end of October 2008. Details of Jodhpur RIFF 2009 will be announced in January via the Jodhpur RIFF official website http://www.jodhpurfolkfestival.org.
