Max Wiley has been in the aerospace business for over 34 years.  He earned a Bachelor degree in 1968 in Radio and Television production with emphasis in audio engineering from California State University.  He later earned a MBA in 1975 while serving in the United States Navy.

Max was awarded his Navy Wings in 1969 and served in Vietnam in 1973 where he flew numerous combat SAR missions in Northern Vietnam.  Later he qualified as Command Duty Officer and Officer of the Deck for a major naval amphibious combatant ship.  Max has over 3,000 hours in both rotary and fixed winged aircraft.  He was the aircraft commander for the photo helicopter for the Apollo 17 mission recovery team, the last moon mission.  He served for 8 years in the U. S. Navy.

After leaving the Navy, Max joined Bell Helicopter Inc. as Marketing Manager for the southeastern division of the U.S.  Later he joined Hughes Helicopters Inc. and continued to direct the international marketing team for McDonnell Douglas through 1993.  Under Max’s direction, McDonnell Douglas sold and delivered the first international AH-64 Apache helicopters.  While under Max’s direction, McDonnell Douglas doubled its market share in both military and commercial sales.  

Max was instrumental in the introduction of the 500E, 530F and the 520 NOTAR helicopters while at McDonnell Douglas.  Later he introduced the MD900 NOTAR to the marketplace.

After rejoining Bell Helicopter Textron in 1994, Max played the primary role in establishing the current Marketing Department.  He directed the Western U.S. Sales Region until his transfer to the Asia Pacific region in January of 2002.
