Dr Surinder P. S. Pruthi

Dr Pruthi is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AGS Group and has had a distinguished career as an international senior advisor and chief technical advisor on institution building, industrial development, productivity enhancement, corporate development, turnaround of ailing enterprises, planning and training to the United Nations (ILO) and as consultant to the World Bank from 1984 to 1988.
Dr. Pruthi has served as an economics and management advisor to the Tata Group of Industries from 1967 to 1972. He was the founder professor of economics and management at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, executive counselor and vice chancellor of Bombay University, and a visiting faculty associate at the Harvard Business School. Dr. Pruthi holds a Ph.D. in economics from the London School of Economics having completed his Masters in economics at Delhi School of Economics.
Dr. Pruthi has received numerous awards and honours including the Ford Foundation Award to Harvard Business School, Escorts Award 1972 for the Best Book of the Year, British Council Travel Scholarship, Manchester University Award, University of Oslo Award and others. From time to time, Dr. Pruthi serves in committees of various institutions including Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd, Punjab National Bank, Air India – India Airlines Merger Committee, Indian Olympics Association Committee. He has also served as a Trustee of NICMAR. |
