Singapore is the one of the oldest destination
for Malayalee migration.In the last few decades
Singapore has progressed economically and higher
importance is being given to India and China, as
partners for progress and growth. Kerala and
Singapore now have plenty of opportunities to
collaborate, leveraging complementary
strengths.
WMC (Singapore) is formed as a not for profit
association with its own constitution and
inaugurated by Mr Lim Boon Heng, Minister, Prime
Minister’s Office, Singapore .It aims to make
Singapore and Asia Pacific region more visible to
the over 2.5 million Malayalees outside India.
Singapore has recently signed the free trade
agreement with India that should substantially
increase the business and investment opportunities
for all to benefit. WMC (Singapore) addresses the
need of a global interaction and integration of
the community, leveraging the regional relevance
of Singapore. WMC (Singapore) aims to converge the
dynamic mix of professional Malayalees, business
community and investors in the Asia Pacific region
to create a vibrant community. A year long series
of events leading to the world conference was
launched by WMC Singapore.
