THE EVENT - RESPONSE BEYOND BORDERS, GOA
An epidemic of HIV and AIDS driven primarily by unsafe injecting drug use practices is sweeping across Asia. Many countries in Asia are experiencing unprecedented economic growth but the progression of HIV can slow down this economic growth through decimation of the human resource capital of countries.
The Response Beyond Borders consultation is the result of an increasing acknowledgement by all sectors working with HIV and drug abuse that new thinking is required to develop sufficient and effective responses to the impact of HIV within injecting drug use communities. An Asian context will bind the consultation together, creating a framework for dialogue, debate, and consensus for all participants.
The Response Beyond Borders consultation will be primarily issue driven and as such a broad range of abstracts from all sectors are welcomed. The continent of Asia is vast and therefore the Response Beyond Borders consultation will seek to address both country specific issues and solutions, whilst at the same time identifying issues common to the region bound by geographic, cultural, social or economic similarities.
Showtime Events a Delhi based Event Management Company was organizing an international event in Goa. To ensure that the attendees didn’t face problem registering because of the time differences, Showtime Events decided to partner with a payment gateway provided so that attendees could register and pay online 24 x7.
Showtime Events completed the formalities with a well-known payment gateway provider and communicated the date the registrations would begin to all attendees. Everything was ready, when, just 2 days before d-day or registration day, their payment gateway provider backed out leaving them in a potentially disastrous situation.
ShowTime Events approached EventAvenue for a payment gateway. At this point, they were resigned to the fact that registrations would delayed and they were prepared to send out emails to inform their attendees of the delay.
However, when ShowTime Events informed EventAvenue of the situation, the team at EventAvenue after some deliberation decided to speed up the two-week sign up process. EventAvenue processed and activated Showtime Events’ account, and provided them with the payment gateway within 48 hours.
||ShowTime Events was able to start collecting registrations from their attendees on the communicate date without the incensed clients and irate registrants.
